Warrington Town Women to play FA Cup tie at Cal.Delivery Stadium
Warrington Town Women will play at the Cal.Delivery Stadium for the first time when they take on Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup next weekend.
The game will take place on Sunday 22 September with a 2pm kick-off, and entry is just £3 for adults and £1 for concessions/under 16s.
It is the first time that the women’s team have played at the ground, having moved over to the club last summer. The women’s team were part of the club’s kit launch this summer – all of the club’s senior teams now wear the same kits, all sponsored by Novelis.
They have already started their league season, playing home games at Tetley Walkers Sports & Social Club and Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub, and many of the women’s team are regulars at the men’s home games.

Kev Larkin, head of women’s football at Warrington Town, said: “We’re all excited to play our first game at Cal.delivery Stadium.
“It’s going to be a memorable game for everyone, and the fact that it’s the FA Cup makes it even more special. We’re expecting a good turnout from the fans, especially from the local girls involved in grassroots football.
“We hope to inspire them and show the opportunities available in the future.
“Off the pitch, we’re preparing well for the challenge of Accrington Stanley, we’ve got everything in place to give ourselves a great chance, and everyone loves a good cup run, so we hope this won’t be our last game here this season.”
It will be the finale of a trio of FA Cup matches all being held at the club’s home ground over the next 10 days – starting with the men’s clash against Radcliffe this Saturday, September 15.
The club’s Under 18s side then also take on Radcliffe in the FA Youth Cup first round qualifying on Tuesday night, 7pm kick-off.
Women’s team captain Helen Dobson, whose company Core Social sponsors an advertising board at the Cal.Delivery Stadium, is looking forward to playing at the club’s home ground.
Helen added: “The girls are so excited about playing at the Cal.Delivery Stadium.

“The FA cup has been a great competition for us the last couple of years and it will be made even more magical to be playing at the home of Warrington Town and hopefully in front of some new attendees.
“Our attendances at Tetleys and Sankey have been great since affiliating with Town, and we hope that we can attract some of the fans who watch the men play to our game on the 22nd.
“Some of the girls watch the men week in week out, so it’s a real honour to be playing at the ground.”
As part of the development of the women’s section and the club, Birchwood-based Bilfinger have become an official partner of the women’s team, which will be celebrated for the FA Cup match.
