Amis: We all want to win the league

Striker Josh Amis says keeping the squad together gives Warrington Town the best chance to win the BetVictor NPL.

Amis, 24, found form in the New Year to help fire the Yellows to the play-offs, and he went on to score the winner off the bench in the play-off final against South Shields.

In an interview with young Yellows fan Marcel Abbott, Amis said: “It’s good (to have signed a new deal). I know what the lads are about and what the manager’s about, so I’m quite excited to get back to it.

“We’ve all got to be aiming to win the league. As players, like the manager and the chairman, we all want to win the league and keeping the squad together gives us better chance to do that.

“When you look at how strong the league is going to be next year, going up through the play-offs would not be a bad thing either.

“It’s such a strong league, with strong teams coming down and other teams investing again, there’s going to be a lot of competition.”
