Carden praises Jordan Buckley’s goal scoring form

Jordan Buckley has no doubt quickly caught the attention of the Pitching In Northern Premier League with his goal scoring record, having scored for the sixth league game straight against Nantwich Town midweek.

The striker has scored the most goals from open play so far this season, and is second in the leading goal scorers in the Premier Division with nine, just one behind top-of-the-table Ewan Bange at Bamber Bridge.

In 30 appearances for the Yellows, 22 in the starting line up, Buckley has scored 17 goals.

Speaking of his good form, manager Paul Carden said: “Long may it continue. Jordan is somebody who we’ve put some time into as we appreciate his attributes.

“He’s a good lad and he wants to listen and progress. He wants to be a full-time footballer and is doing a lot of work behind the scenes and looking on parts of his games to improve and he’s putting in work away from training and games.

“He’s studying himself and doing stuff he needs to do physically and it is paying off. I’m delighted he’s up there. He’s deserved his goals and has scored some top goals and some opportunist goals. I’m pleased for him.

“If he can brush up on a couple of other things, and keep believing in himself. He’s up there because he’s a good player. He’s got to not be fearful of anybody and be strong. He will be a marked man now as he’s up there and opponents will be taking notice of him. He just needs to carry on and long may his goal scoring form continue.”

Warrington Town return to action this Saturday, October 16, at Cantilever Park against Whitby Town. Supporters can purchase tickets online.
