Carden thanks departing coaching staff

Boss Paul Carden has thanked departing physio Bret Harris and goalkeeper coach Chris Kiernan after their departures were confirmed.

The club recently advertised for a new physiotherapist after a change in work commitments meant that Bret couldn’t commit to the new season, while Chris’ GKN business goes from strength to strength, requiring more of his time.

Carden said: “I just want to thank them both for the work they’ve done. Bret’s been here virtually since day one, he’s been part of it since the beginning.

“He said he’s still going to come and watch games for us when we can. Chris is just around the corner anyway so he’s not going to be a million miles away if and when we might need his help.

“I want to thank them on behalf of the lads and everyone at the club.”

A number of additions to the backroom staff will be made prior to the start of the season.

While the league campaign doesn’t kick off until September 19, the Yellows will find out on Monday if they are one of a handful of Northern Premier League Premier Division teams that will be required to play in the FA Cup preliminary rounds on September 12.
