Club statement
The club has been made aware of an incident that took place at the end of tonight’s game against South Shields.
Video footage is being reviewed and the perpetuator, once identified, will be banned from attending games at Cantilever Park.
We have enjoyed a healthy rivalry with South Shields over recent years on the pitch, and we will not allow the actions of any individual to undermine that.
Not only that, this behaviour threatens to undo the good work done by the club to ensure the return of fans for the start of this season.

My friends and I attended the above game as a Travelling Shields supporters. We stood near the corner flag at the end near the home supporting fans in the stand behind the goal. While their support was noisy, it was in the main typical of younger supporters and we didn’t hear any unacceptable comments other than one particular young man who, on passing us began to direct obscene language towards us, he was not threatening in a physical way and we ignored him.
At the end of the game, the same young man was involved in an altercation with, I believe, one of your own supporters who seemed to be remonstrating with him about his behaviour.
I must say we were treated with the utmost courtesy by the staff and stewards and enjoyed our time at your club. My friends and I will look forward to our next visit to Warrington FC.
