Luke Duffy looking forward to new season

Warrington Town midfielder Luke Duffy says the fans are the “12th man” and can’t wait to be back playing in front of crowds at Cantilever Park.

Duffy was one of the first three players to re-sign with the club for next season, alongside striker Jordan Buckley and defender Eddie Clarke.

Now, with a start date for the upcoming 2021/22 Northern Premier League season and Season Tickets on sale, Duffy is looking forward to getting back to Cantilever Park in front of fans.

“It was an easy decision to sign another deal with the Yellows, I’m just looking forward to get going now,” he said.

“We’re a few sessions into pre-season now. We have been put through are paces and I’m loving it. I can’t wait to get stuck into the season.

“It’s not the same without fans. It’s like playing with a 12th man when we’re at home and it’s what I’m looking forward to the most.”

Duffy originally signed from North West Counties side Lower Breck last summer having impressed against the Yellows in a pre-season friendly, and scored two goals in 10 appearances in the curtailed season.

Speaking of working under manager Paul Carden, he added: “You get what you see with Paul and the rest of the staff. There’s no messing about which helps me improve as a player. We’re all on the same page. We know where we want to be and what we have to do to get there.

“The goal for me this year is promotion. I am there to win and contribute as much as I can.”

Supporters can now purchase their season tickets via the club website, with prices at £180 for adults, £105 for concessions, £35 for juniors and £380 for families, covering all 21 home games at Cantilever Park.
