Warrington Town will look to extend their winning start to the 2022/23 season when they visit Belper Town this weekend.
With two successive victories in the Northern Premier League, the Yellows are one of only two sides to have achieved maximum points so far.
Saturday’s visit to Christchurch Meadow (also known as the Raygar Stadium) will see them face a Belper side who achieved promotion to Step 3 via the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division play-offs last season.
The boss’ thoughts
Manager Mark Beesley admits Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory at Stalybridge Celtic is testament to the resilience within the Warrington Town squad.
Tom Hannigan headed home his first goal for the club as the Yellows secured all three points on the road – something that they will try to replicate this weekend.
“Even the top teams in the world aren’t at their best every week, and in this league, it’s relentless,” he said.
“When you’re not at your best, it’s important you have that team spirit and togetherness to get you through nights like this.
“Stalybridge put us under a lot of pressure in the second half but we withstood it very well.”
Andy White preview
Defender Andy White believes his experience of playing at a higher level can help the club achieve its ultimate aim of promotion.
White joined the club from Altrincham, where he made 16 appearances last season, and has also enjoyed spells at Crewe Alexandra and Southport Town, among others, earlier in his career
“Hopefully myself and the players who have had similar experiences to me can be a real help,” he said. “I’ve played in non-league for nine years now, and it can only be a good thing for the young lads to try and learn from us.”
Saturday’s Northern Premier League fixture at Christchurch Meadow kicks off at 3:00pm. Match tickets, which are available to buy online and at the turnstiles, are priced as follows:
- Adults: £11
- Concessions (Over 65s, students, Under 16s): £7
