Preview: Farsley Celtic vs Warrington Town

After three successive home games, Warrington Town journey to West Yorkshire to take on Farsley Celtic on Tuesday night in the National League North.

The Yellows enjoyed a rare weekend off from footballing duties after their disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Southport last Tuesday, and they will be hoping to bounce back with a good performance on the road tomorrow.

The two teams played out a dramatic encounter at Cantilever Park in October, with goalkeeper Dan Atherton heading home from a corner in the game’s final seconds to rescue a point for his side.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Warrington Town manager Mark Beesley admits that his side need to address their midweek woes after falling to their fifth Tuesday night defeat last time out against Southport.

It’s something that he’s hoping to rectify ahead of Tuesday’s clash away at Farsley, with more midweek fixtures looming in the form of a Good Friday fixture against Scunthorpe United and a subsequent trip to Peterborough Sports next week.

The Yellows will come into tomorrow’s fixture with a full week’s worth of preparation after enjoying a weekend off, and with injuries affecting his squad, Beesley is using all of the time necessary to ensure that his squad are in the best shape that they can be.

“It’s something we’ve spoken about and definitely something we need to look at,” Beesley said.

“We need to look at the reasons why, what we can do and what we’re maybe doing differently.

“The planning and the prep is all there but I think sometimes the level we’re at now means Saturday-Tuesday games are really taxing physically and mentally.

“Over the season, we’ve found that tough and we have to look at how we can fix that.

“There’s lads that played on Tuesday that probably shouldn’t have played. We’ve a few injuries in there so Thursday will probably be a late session before starting to plan for Farsley.

“It’s a good time to not have a game, but at the same time, it’s a frustrating time not to as you want to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible.”
