Preview: Hyde United vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town will look to extend their five-game unbeaten run away at high-flying Hyde United on Tuesday night.

The Northern Premier League fixture pits third against fifth, with the Yellows looking to establish their place in the top five having returned to the play-off spots following Saturday’s 3-1 win at home to Belper Town.

It will be the Yellows’ second trip to the Project Solar Stadium this season, with the Tigers running out 1-0 winners in the FA Cup second round back in September.

Defender Mitch Duggan missed Saturday’s game through injury, joining longer-term absentee Mikey Howard (knee) on the sidelines.

Duggan could miss Tuesday’s trip to Greater Manchester, but midfielder Matty McDonald is back in contention having returned from a back injury last weekend.

Mark Beesley preview

Yellows manager Mark Beesley says his depleted squad will need to be on top of their game if they want to get a result in midweek.

Hyde are just five points off top spot, although they were forced to rescue a 1-1 draw at home to Atherton Collieries in their last fixture.

Previewing their upcoming assignment, Beesley said: “It’s a tough game. They’re flying up there, and credit to them.

“We’ve got to be ready. We have a real small squad now with Josh Seary going back to Preston, Mitch Duggan and Mikey Howard injured.

“There are only 15 players, so we’ll have to see how bodies are and go from there.”
