Preview: Morpeth Town vs Warrington Town

After four successive home matches, Warrington Town are back on their travels for the visit of Morpeth Town this weekend.

It has been over a month since the Yellows’ last away match, and they will travel to Craik Park for the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season.

Town won 2-0 against the Highwaymen on the opening day of the season at Cantilever Park before dumping them out of the FA Cup at the second attempt at the beginning of September.

It will also be the first of successive away matches for Mark Beesley’s side ahead of Christmas as they look to return to the Northern Premier League play-off places.

Right-back Josh Seary returns to the squad, having missed last weekend’s game against Stalybridge Celtic through suspension.

Captain Josh Amis will miss out as he continues to serve a three-match ban.

Jordan Buckley returned from injury last weekend as a second half substitute and could be set to gain more minutes on Saturday.

Warrington Town striker Jordan Buckley is hoping to finish the 2022/23 campaign strongly after making his long-awaited return from injury.

And with a trip to Morpeth Town on the horizon, Buckley is hopeful that a return to winning ways will come sooner rather than later for his side.

“It will be a difficult place to go – it always is,” he admitted.

“They’re a good team, but I’m confident that we can get back to winning ways after the last game.”
