Preview: Nantwich Town vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town’s first assignment of 2023 will take them to Cheshire rivals Nantwich Town on Monday afternoon.

It will be a difficult start to the calendar year for Mark Beesley’s side, with the Dabbers largely turning their fortunes around since the beginning of November.

A recent goalless draw at home to Marine means the Yellows will go in search of extending their unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions, having won one and drawn two matches since being knocked out of the FA Trophy in mid-November.

And given the congested nature of the Northern Premier League table, a win could see Town rise as high as fourth depending on the outcome of other matches played over the New Year.

Eddie Clarke is set to return for the Yellows, having been absent from the matchday squad on Boxing Day due to Covid-19.

There are no new injury concerns, with Jordan Buckley still pushing for a first start since his return from injury.
