Preview: Stafford Rangers vs Warrington Town

Warrington Town travel to Stafford Rangers tonight in a top half of the table clash.

The yellows will look to maintain their momentum going into this evening’s away trip to Stafford following their 2-1 victory over Morpeth Town in the FA Cup.

The Yellows are currently sitting fifth in the Northern Premier League, subsequent to their recent league win against Nantwich Town which placed them two points behind Stafford with one game in hand on the hosts.

Despite Stafford’s positive start to the 2022 season, they have lost their last three games in all competitions and could be looking to bounce back against Warrington Town this evening.

The Yellows were triumphant against Matt Hill’s side on their first game of the 2021/22 season in a game that ended in a 1-0 win and were held to a 1-1 draw at home in April of this year.

This matchup has always proved to be a close affair over the past few seasons and with five draws from ten previous meetings, tonight’s game will be no different.

Following Warrington Town’s most recent win in the FA Cup, Mark Beesley was delighted with his side and will hope to build on that performance but warns that his side must avoid lapses in their concentration against dangerous opposition.

“Feel like we’re on the bus all the time. As I keep saying, every game is a tough game.” He said.

“Most of the lads have performed all season, We just need to make sure the lads are at it and that they keep going the right direction.”
