Preview: Warrington Town vs Guiseley
Warrington Town will look to book their place in the third round of the FA Trophy on Saturday as Guiseley visit Cantilever Park.
The fixture will allow the Yellows to refocus after their recent good run of form took a hit after back-to-back defeats in the league.
It will be the second meeting between the sides in the space of a fortnight, with Town claiming a 3-1 win at Nethermoor on November 5.
Whoever advances this afternoon could be in line to secure a prestigious tie, with big-hitting sides from the National League entering the competition in the next round.
Team news
Jay Harris returns from suspension, having missed last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Marske United.
Matty McDonald remains a doubt after he sustained a recent shoulder injury away at Whitby Town, but young right-back Josh Seary could feature.
Jordan Buckley returned to the grass ahead of last weekend’s game, but he remains a few weeks away as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following an ankle injury.
Mitch Duggan preview
Warrington Town defender Mitch Duggan is hopeful of advancing to the FA Trophy third round, but admits his side must be ready for the threats posed by Guiseley.
Despite their comfortable victory over the Lions two weeks ago, Duggan is wary of the fact that Guiseley will be out for revenge.
“I’ve been there before where you play a team twice in a short space of time, and if you lose the first game you always seem to up your game in the next meeting to get some sort of revenge,” he said.
“We know that’s how Guiseley will be thinking, so we need to make sure we approach the game as we did the first meeting.”
