Promotion still main focus, says Taylor
Warrington Town defender Matt Taylor says that the goal of promotion hasn’t been dampened by the paused Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division season.
The Yellows have not played in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division since early November against FC United of Manchester.
Paul Carden’s side currently sit fourth in the league table, recording five wins, one draw and three losses so far. They are set to return to league action on Boxing Day with a trip to Witton Albion.
“Obviously we had a really strong start to the season getting points on the table and keeping clean sheets,” said Taylor.
“Since then we have had a couple of disappointing performances, but it’s a long season and I’m more than confident we can continue to get points on the table and finish the season strong.
“This club and team is more than capable of doing so (promotion) and it’s still our number one focus. Hopefully we can repay the faith the fans have shown in us, particularly in these recent difficult times, by getting promoted to the National League North.”
With no football on the horizon, head to an online casino or some other great site to take a look at all the different sorts of games that you could find there.
The squad returned to action for the first time since lockdown in the FA Trophy, falling to a 3-1 defeat away to Northern Premier League N/West outfit Marske United last week.
Speaking during the lockdown, Taylor said: “We have all stayed in contact in our group chat.
“We’ve been set daily challenges by the managing staff and then post our scores in. The lads and staff have done really well as a whole.
“The team are keeping everyone fit and ready for the restart of the season. It will no doubt stand us in good stead for when we kick off again.”
Tickets for the next home game, on New Year’s Day against Bamber Bridge, are now on sale.
