Signing contract an “easy decision” for Charlie Munro

Midfielder Charlie Munro says it was an easy decision to sign on contract terms with the Yellows, after agreeing a deal earlier this week.

Munro, 24, joined the Yellows from Ashton Athletic ahead of the 2020/21 Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division, and has featured in every game so far under Paul Carden.

It was his superb assist for Jack Dunn that helped guide the team to a mid-week 2-2 draw with Nantwich Town, and came after he had penned a deal with chairman Toby Macormac before the game.

“It was an easy decision for me,” said Munro.

“I’m enjoying my football and hopefully it can continue. I’ve loved it from the first session, everyone at the club was very welcoming, the lads are quality and the football we play suits me so I am really enjoying it.

“We’ve had a good start, but I still think we’ve not reached the levels we can in terms of performance, but that will come and we’ve had some good results.

The Yellows travel to the Giant Axe this Saturday in the Premier Division to face Lancaster City.

Munro added: “I’m expecting a very tough game. This is my first season in this league so I’ve never played any of the teams, but there are no easy games in this league and hopefully we can get another win.”
