Skipper wants to put club on the map

Warrington Town captain Mark Roberts wants to build on the momentum of last season and help put the club on the football map.

Roberts, 35, signed a new deal to extend his stay at Cantilever Park having made 49 appearances in his first season at the club.

He told Cambridgeshire Live: “With me being a local lad and only living a mile from the stadium, it means a lot to me to see the club progress. We want to see the club get on the football map.

“There are some really good people involved behind the scenes and some real progress in the way they are doing things.”
