Yellows complete pre-season unbeaten

Warrington Town rounded off a successful pre-season with a 3-1 win at Runcorn Linnets on Saturday.

Latest signing Matthew Chadwick was on target from the penalty spot, with Alex Byrne and Josh Amis on the scoresheet as the Yellows once again came from behind to win.

The Runcorn side featured four former Warrington players in Louis Corrigan, Ally Brown, Kurt Sherlock and Peter Wylie.

It was a sixth win in seven outings for Paul Carden’s men, the only draw coming at home to Football League Two side Accrington Stanley.

With a large majority of last season’s play-off winning squad remaining at the club, plus the additions of Louis Barnes, Alex Byrne, Steve Jennings Scott Sephton and Chadwick, attention now turns to the league opener at home to newly-promoted Morpeth Town.

Season tickets are still available, while match tickets for the home games in August against Morpeth Town and Bamber Bridge are on sale.
