Yellows hoping to “bounce back” says Buckley

Warrington Town will be looking to bounce back with a trip to Ashton United this weekend, says striker Jordan Buckley.

Paul Carden’s side went 2-0 ahead in the midweek fixture against Basford United with goals from Buckley and Josh Amis, before a red card to Amis changed the game and saw Steve Chettle’s side turn it around to claim the three league points with a 2-3 result.

This weekend in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division, the Yellows travel to Hurst Cross to face Ashton United, who have recorded one win, five draws and four losses so far this season.

“The last couple of games have been disappointing, especially when we know what we’re capable of,” said Buckley.

“It’s definitely going to be a test because anyone can beat anyone in this league and they’re going to want to get the three points just as much as us.

“We need to bounce back Saturday and go on a good run.”

Buckley has scored six goals so far this season, and is hoping to add to his tally.

He said: “I am happy, but I know I should have had more with the chances I’ve missed.

“I just need to stay focused and keep scoring to help the team.”

Warrington Town return home on Saturday October 9 against Stalybridge Celtic, with tickets available online.
