Yellows sign ex-Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom

Warrington Town have signed former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom ahead of this weekend’s home game against King’s Lynn Town.

Wisdom, 30, made 22 appearances for the Reds after coming through their youth system, and went on to play in the Premier League for West Brom and Norwich City.

He was most recently with Derby County, spending four seasons in the Championship before departing in the summer of 2021 amidst the club’s financial problems.

The Leeds-born right-back or centre-back has been training with the Yellows in recent weeks and has now penned a deal to join the club.

Earlier in his career, Wisdom was part of the England squad that won the UEFA European Under 17s Championship in 2010.

While at Liverpool, he spent time on loan in the Austrian Bundesliga with Red Bull Salzburg. In total, he has made more than 200 professional appearances.
