Yellows snatch a point with last kick

Warrington Town got out of a jail with a dramatic late equaliser as they drew 1-1 at home to Lancaster City.

With two of their title rivals in action against each other and a third in Nantwich not playing, the Yellows missed out an opportunity to seize second place in the table.

In the end, they were thankful for a point after Brad Carsley had struck the Dolly Blues in front just seven minutes from time, after Adam Hughes had seen red for booting the ball at a Lancaster player on the ground.

But they rescued a point with another late show, as Tony Gray popped up in the fourth minute of added time with a stunning free kick – not the first time that Warrington have secured points in injury time in the last month or so.

Lancaster slip in to the relegation zone following this result, and despite the joy of the late equaliser, Warrington may see it as a chance lost than a point gained.
