Yellows to take on Accrington Stanley

Warrington Town will take on Football League side Accrington Stanley as part of their pre-season schedule.

Stanley will visit Cantilever Park on Monday July 22nd (7.30pm kick-off), the third of eight planned friendlies for Paul Carden’s side.

Carden himself is a former Accrington player, as is club captain Mark Roberts, while goalkeeping coach James Speare is a Stanley club legend.

The remaining confirmed friendlies are all local affairs with just one further home game planned so far, against Northern Premier League new boys City of Liverpool (Tuesday August 6th, 7.45pm), who are managed by Warrington’s FA Cup hero and former skipper Craig Robinson.

The Yellows will be back in action on Tuesday July 16th away at Skelmersdale United, before a trip to Wythenshawe on Saturday July 20th.

They will play three sides from the division below them too – playing at the Halton Stadium against Widnes Friday July 26th (7.45pm), away at Prescot Cables on Saturday August 3rd and then away at Runcorn Linnets on Saturday August 10th.

The new league season kicks off on Saturday August 17th.
