Loan pair sign ahead of Chorley trip

Warrington Town have added two loan signings to the squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Chorley in National League North.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Arran Pettifer, 19, has linked up with the Yellows to boost midfield options for at least the next month.

He played on loan at Atherton Collieries in the Northern Premier League last season, making more than 30 appearances, and also featured alongside Matty Grivosti for Bolton’s B team.

While at Colls, he played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw in the snow against the Yellows in January.

Pettifer helps a midfield that has lost Jay Harris and Matty McDonald through injury, while Bohan Dixon will start a three-match ban this weekend following his red card against Blyth Spartans.

Bolton B team boss Matt Craddock said of Pettifer earlier this year: “Arran is a really good kid. We sent him out on loan to mature and to grow up as a man, and he has come back like a young man. His level of professionalism is very good.”

Forward Dylan Mottley-Henry, 26, also joins on a one-month loan deal from league rivals South Shields.

He played against the Yellows twice last season, including in the game at South Shields where the home side were presented with the Northern Premier League trophy.

After coming through the youth ranks at Bradford City, he has had spells with Barnsley, Tranmere Rovers and Altrincham, before making the move to South Shields last summer.

Mottley-Henry scored 13 goals last season, including a run of eight goals in 12 games. That included the winner against Scunthorpe United which fired South Shields into the FA Cup first round.

With Jordan Buckley still working his way back to full fitness, and club captain Josh Amis still sidelined through a combination of suspension and injury, Mottley-Henry will provide further options for the front line which was led by the tireless Connor Woods in the win over Buxton in midweek.
